We are excited about this summer! I know it’s only March, but we are already looking forward to it! The thing that I am personally the most excited about is launching our Mission to El Salvador Summer Internship Program! We are praying and looking for volunteers who are interested in being part of our summer staff.

 As part of our staff for the summer, interns will be an integral part of all of our ministries and will gain experience in the Spanish language, urban ministry, ministry to kids at risk, youth ministry, working on a multi-cultural team, and working with those in poverty. Our interns will also help us with some of the logistics of our summer short-term missions teams.

Each week interns will participate in these ministries, but also have a chance to process some of their own thoughts and feelings about ministry in a Latin American urban context. We will talk through God’s heart for the poor, how He feels about the fatherless, and our response towards urban issues like homelessness, prostitution, and poverty. We see this internship as being a growing and learning experience for us all!

The internship is 12 weeks and will run from June 12th – August 4th. The cost is $800 and that covers all room, board, and transportation in El Salvador for the entire summer. As missionaries, we raise our own salary and we ask our interns to do the same as part of our summer staff. The cost of airfare is not included in that price.

We are looking for interns who are serious about serving God in a cross-cultural context. Our criteria is that each intern have a personal relationship with Jesus, is 18 years of age or older, and submits two personal references along with the application form.
